Though the sorry spree has drawn flak from within and outside the celebration Kejriwal seems decided to apologise his way out of the over two dozen defamation instances he nonetheless faces. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said the birthday party wasn t interested in ego fights . He however did not make clear whether or not Kejriwal additionally deliberate to apologise to Union finance minister Arun Jaitley. Sisodia too tendered his apology inside the Amit Sibal case and changed into acquitted. In Gadkari s criminal defamation case extra chief metropolitan magistrate Samar Vishal located In view of the joint software accompanied through the letter of regret and the statements of counsel of each the parties this defamation case underneath Section 500 IPC filed by way of Nitin Gadkari towards Arvind Kejriwal stands compounded and accused Kejriwal stands acquitted Gadkari had filed a criminal defamation case against Kejriwal for alleging that he turned into involved in corruption. I made positive statements without regard to its verifiability which appears to have hurt you.... I don't have anything non-public in opposition to you. I remorse the identical. Let us placed the incident behind us and bring the court court cases to a closure. I recommend we have to positioned our energy to serve the human beings of this united states of america inside the spirit of mutual admire. In view of the joint application sworn affidavits of Kejriwal and Sisodia copies of letters of apology and statements of complainant and recommend for Kejriwal and Sisodia this defamation case filed via Amit Sibal... Turns out Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal s apology to Shiromani Akali Dal chief Bikram Singh Majithia in a criminal defamation case turned into just the start. On Monday Kejriwal additionally apologised to the Bharatiya Janata Party s Nitin Gadkari and the Congress Kapil Sibal whilst phrase emerged that he was possibly to apologise to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as nicely. And that won't be the quit of Kejriwal s apology excursion. For a pacesetter whose claim to reputation changed into his fearlessness in the face of insurmountable odds the language of his letters to political competitors who have filed defamation suits against him was particularly telling. I made positive statements with out regards to its verifiability which seems to have harm you and therefore you have filed a defamation case in opposition to me. I don't have anything private in opposition to you. I regret the identical Kejriwal wrote to Gadkari whom he had included in a list of India s maximum corrupt in 2013. Let us positioned the incident at the back of us and bring the courtroom complaints to a closure Kejriwal added. The Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party began its existence as an anti-corruption protest motion with the complete premise being that it would take on those in any other case taken into consideration sacred cows in Indian public existence. It was Kejirwal s willingness to goal absolutely everyone from Robert Vadra the brother-in-regulation of Congress president Rahul Gandhi to Mukesh Ambani India s richest man that cemented his recognition as a virtually radical entrant to India s political skyline even supposing he couldn't spell out any particular ideology beyond fighting corruption. His common allegations approximately the corruption of absolutely everyone in the system even turned into a punchline: Sab mile hue hain ji meaning they're all mixed up in it .AAPology tourSo the sight of Kejriwal apologising to someone like Majithia who was the leader villain of the Aam Aadmi Party s Punjab campaign in 2017 when it held the Shiromani Akali Dal chief accountable for the nation s drug threat or Gadkari is jarring. If the rumour about Kejriwal s expected apology to Jaitley seems to be correct it will likely be even extra damning. Why do it then? The Aam Aadmi Party s leaders declare it is pragmatism. They have tried to portray the criminal defamation cases against Kejriwal as criminal bullying an pointless conflict that drains the party s assets. For all practical purposes crook defamation cases are effectively a judicially permissible shape of bullying stated party chief Atishi Marlena. Delhi s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia additionally defended Kejriwal s moves saying We re right here to serve the humans we do no longer have the time to go to courts for such problems. We re right here to construct colleges and hospitals for the welfare of people. Some leaders also positioned out a time table that supposedly depicts Kejriwal s court docket dates showing 17 matters in the month of March on my own. What @ArvindKejriwal did. It realy harm the emotions of all which includes me. On any other facet if u see the listing of hearings in the month of march best then even GOD himself will frustrate from it. All time many hearings plan just to harrass AK. @AamAadmiParty @AAPPunjab %.Twitter.Com/7VYQfmLY1A Navjot Kaur Lambi (@Navjot_Lambi) March 16 2018 Kejriwal won't were fully organized for a number of the reactions to his apology letters in element because Majithia held a press convention on the problem earlier than the Aam Aadmi Party could control the narrative. Some of Kejriwal s previous couple of days have been spent trying to quell an rebellion in the birthday celebration s Punjab unit as a result of the apology to Majithia. The state of affairs is now at an uneasy detente. The fresh apology letters on Monday however have grew to become the matter into a larger political photograph issue one which Kejriwal no question is aware about. Pragmatic politics? It is likely that the leader minister is making the calculation to rip off the legal bandaid in a single go and flow on in preference to seeing his party budget sliced away with attempt time and money spent on preventing every one of the instances. The Aam Aadmi Party s failure to win in Punjab left it dispirited and its combat with the Centre in Delhi has occupied a great deal of its time. But there are elections in advance so that it will need Kejriwal s full attention. First although the problem is within the courts in some unspecified time in the future there are in all likelihood to be bye-polls to 20 Assembly seats in Delhi following the disqualification of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs at the charge of maintaining workplaces of earnings. Then there are the Lok Sabha elections due in early 2019 to look ahead to. The Aam Aadmi Party will desire to win as a minimum 1/2 of Delhi s seven seats all of which had long gone to the BJP within the Modi wave election in 2014 and keep some of the seats it had exceedingly picked up in Punjab that yr.Fighting the ones elections will take attempt and cash and since the Aam Aadmi Party s failure to win in Punjab budget had been more difficult to return by means of. From the face of it Kejriwal seems to be making the calculation that he's not likely to win any of the cases in court but he is probably capable of manage the political fallout of his apology tour. There is a precedent here too: Kejriwal s choice to surrender from a minority authorities in 2014 become extensively unpopular so much in order that it regarded not going he could be capable of win returned the confidence of Delhi s citizens. However after very publicly pronouncing sorry the Aam Aadmi Party chief romped domestic in 2015 with 67 of the country s 70 seats. Confined to DelhiAlthough the affect of many inside the center magnificence-run media appears to be that Kejriwal s stature has fallen notably since the heady days of 2015 his recognition and that of the birthday party remain intact in Delhi. The apologies are not likely to dent that massively since the Aam Aadmi Party has real achievements to point to which is the road Sisodia took when he stated we are here to build colleges and hospitals in preference to going to courtroom. The question that comes up is where does Kejriwal s politics outdoor Delhi move from here? In its early years the party had attempted to contest elections all over the u . S . Believing it could leverage the anger it had successfully whipped up in opposition to the Congress which in most cases ended up accruing to the BJP rather. But since the Aam Aadmi Party has little within the way of ideology its complete approach to a new territory is to loudly denounce all the incumbents and gift itself as an alternative. At least for a touch at the same time as Kejriwal may be not able to make any accusations approximately rival politicians in view that everyone will certainly deliver up the query of whether or not he will turn around and apologise quickly after. The celebration s success in governing Delhi despite challenges from the Centre offers it a base on which it can continue to grow inside the Capital. But it has not been so a hit that it may promote a Delhi version to other regions it would love to enlarge into. The simplest component then for the birthday party to leverage in campaigns out of doors the Capital is Kejriwal s popularity. Considering that many have complained about the celebration turning into a personality cult what's going to it suggest for the Aam Aadmi Party to now be extra structured than ever before on its mercurial founder?
Written through Updated: March 20 2018 eight:11 am The crisis in the Punjab AAP turned into reportedly averted after Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia defined the rationale for the apology to Majithia. But what does this foreigner Lenin have to do with our people? remarked BJP south district secretary Raju Nath in response to the incident. The incident took place just days after the BJP made a sweeping victory in the state that had been a Communist citadel for decades. While the motive of the act remains debatable what is indisputable is the disdain for one of the most important communist revolutionaries of the world. What is further necessary to dwell upon is the lesser known details of the support that Lenin lent to both the rise of a communist movement in India and to the anti-colonial struggle that gave birth to a free India. Two decades before the Russian revolution Lenin had been aggressively advocating the need for an international community of revolutionaries. In his article Inflammable material in world politics written in August 1908 the leader made a detailed analysis of the revolutionary movements across the world admiring their intensity and appreciating the diversity of their methods in pulling down those who prey and exploit. The international movement in various European and Asian countries has latterly made itself felt so weightily that we see before us the fairly clear outlines of a new and incomparably higher stage in the international proletarian struggle he wrote. The counter-revolution in Persia the revolutionary movement in the army led by young Turks and the movement against the medieval order in China were discussed with much eagerness by the Communist leader. While discussing India Lenin showered praises upon the natives who in the early years of the twentieth century had risen in rebellion against the civilised British unsettling them from their position of security. In India lately the native slaves of the civilised British capitalists have been a source of worry to their masters he wrote. He celebrated the rise of the Indian proletariat and the potential they carried within themselves in consolidating an international revolution led by the working classes. But perhaps the most noteworthy of contributions made by the Russian giant to the revolutionary process in India was the support it lent in shaping the Communist Party of India (CPI). It was Lenin who personally received the founder of the CPI MN Roy in Moscow where he was invited to attend the second world congress of the Communist International and it was he who led Roy to formulate his ideas as a supplement to Roy s thesis on the national and colonial questions. It was under Lenin s guidance that Roy published his writings in the weekly bulletin of the Communist International and also served as a member of the organisation s presidium for eight years. During this period Roy was mentored by Lenin to prepare the East for its moment of revolution. From Moscow Roy published some of his most influential writings including India in transition The future of Indian politics and his own journal The Vanguard which would eventually become the organ of the CPI. During this period still under the tutelage of Lenin Roy founded the CPI at Tashkent in October 1920. In the decades to come the CPI would not just become the face of the Communist movement in India but would also shape much of the nationalist movement and the political landscape of independent India. A war of words has broken out between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Opposition over the toppling of Vladimir Lenin s statue in Tripura on Tuesday morning. It started after the statue was toppled in the state s Belonia town allegedly by BJP workers. The statue s vandalism was part of large-scale violence reported from Tripura as CPM offices in different parts of the state were defaced. But even as the CPM was decrying the violence and terming it Communism phobia BJP leaders waded into the debate. The party s national secretary Ram Madhav tweeted out a post saying people are taking down Lenin s statue and used the party s slogan for the Tripura elections Chalo Paltai with it. However he later deleted it. BJP leader Subramaniam Swamy also appeared to support the razing of Lenin s statue even calling the Russian revolutionary a terrorist and a foreigner. Lenin is a foreigner and in a way a terrorist. There shouldn t be a statue of this sort of person in our country. They are welcome to put that statue inside the communist party headquarters and worship it if they so wish Swamy was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI. #Lenin to videshi hai ek parakar se antankwadi hai aise vyakti ka humare desh mein statue? Woh statue Communist party ke headquarters ke andar rakh sakte hain aur pooja karen :Subramanian Swamy pic.twitter.com/DUDVFApSCT ANI (@ANI) March 6 2018 But even while the controversy continued to rage Tamil Nadu BJP leader H Raja stoked the fire further by saying EV Ramasamy commonly known as Periyar will meet a similar fate. Raja slammed Periyar in a post he put up on Facebook although he subsequently deleted it. H Raja deleted his post soon after publishing it Periyar was a 20th Century thinker activist and politician who started the self-respect movement against Brahmin and upper caste hegemony. He is revered as a champion of the Dravidian movement in South India. Who is Lenin? What is his connection with India? What is the connection between Communism and India? Lenin s statue was broken down in Tripura. Today it is Lenin s statue in Tripura. Tomorrow it will be the caste zealot EV Ramasamy s (Periyar) statue in Tamil Nadu he had written. But the damage had clearly been done already. MK Stalin working president of the DMK which revers Periyar and owes much of its ideology to the Dravidian cause slammed Raja who is also the BJP national secretary. Stalin said Raja should be arrested under the Goondas Act The News Minute reported Stalin as saying. No one can even dare to touch EVR s statue. H Raja s comments have incited violence. He has been repeatedly doing this. He should be arrested and Goondas Act slapped against him Stalin was quoted as saying. DMK spokesperson A Saravanan was also quoted in the article as saying the party will organise protests against Raja and the BJP in many parts of the state. This is pure hate and Talibanisation of India. Such things happen only happen in Taliban. In a democracy we don t indulge in political vandalism or threaten to do it Saravanan said.

However MoS (Home) Hansraj Ahir said statues of foreign leaders have no place in India. We condemn all kinds of violence and the state government is handling the situation. But I want to make it clear that statues of foreign leaders are not required in India. I don t want to take anyone s name but I want to say that we have no place for them he said. AGARTALA: Two statues of Lenin have been pulled down in the last 24 hours by mobs in Tripura where the Left Front suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of BJP and its ally the Indigenous People s Front of Tripura (IPFT) in the assembly elections. On Tuesday a statue of the Communist icon was razed to the ground at Sabroom on the southernmost tip of the state bordering Bangladesh while on Monday a mob demolished a statue of Lenin using an excavator at Belonia. Both Sabroom and Belonia fall in South Tripura district. Coming within two days of BJP demolishing the CPM citadel the Lenin statues were targeted amid growing attacks on Left Front supporters allegedly by BJP and IPFT activists. The statue at Belonia was unveiled by former CPM general secretary Prakash Karat only a few months ago. While the driver of the excavator used to demolish the statue in Belonia has been arrested police said they were in the process of identifying other attackers. Meanwhile BJP described the demolition of statues as an outburst of people s anger . Concerned over the violence Union home minister Rajnath Singh asked Tripura governor Tathagata Roy and state DGP A K Shukla to ensure peace and tranquillity until the new BJP-IPFT government takes charge. What added more to BJP and Centre s discomfiture were the tweets from Roy and BJP general secretary Ram Madhav that many construed as being supportive of the demolition of the statues. The governor had tweeted that anything done by a democratically elected government can be undone by a new government . Madhav s tweet which was later deleted referred to the slogan for change which BJP had given during the campaign: People taking down Lenin s statue not in Russia; it is in Tripura. Chalo Paltai . In a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday the CPM politburo asked for his immediate intervention to end the violence in Tripura. The party also announced countrywide coordinated protests against the state government. It said 514 Marxist cadres have been injured and 1 539 houses attacked. It added that 196 houses of party workers have been set ablaze and 134 CPM offices attacked. The memorandum claimed that 208 CPM offices have been captured by attackers. Police spokesperson Pradip De said there were no reports of disturbance on Tuesday. Talking about the demolition in Belonia he said The statue had been installed with the approval of the local municipality so pulling it down is a crime. The matter is still under investigation. It could be an act of miscreants.

The West Bengal BJP today said the party will effect a change in Bengal much like it did in Tripura where it scripted history by ending 25 years of uninterrupted rule of the CPI(M)-led Left Front. When some BJP supporters were killed in Tripura people changed the mandate in that state. In Bengal many more of our supporters have been killed and injured and their properties destroyed. BJP will bring a similar change in this state West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh told a press conference here. Ghosh said nepotism corruption and political violence is rampant in the state and there is no place for violence in politics. The West Bengal BJP president was addressing party workers in Aamtala in South 24 Parganas district. The BJP-IPFT combine yesterday won the Tripura Assembly polls with two-third majority. The BJP and the Indigenous People s Front of Tripura won 43 seats. The CPI(M) won 16 seats and the Congress none. The elections in 59 seats in the 60-member Assembly were held on February 18.
Kolkata: Following the BJP s historic win in the Tripura assembly elections the party s West Bengal unit on Saturday said this will surely impact state politics and predicted a sea change in Bengal s political scenario in six months. It is the people who have brought about the change in Tripura. They will bring about the change in Bengal too. We are trying to build our party organisation here as per their hopes and aspirations. We have full support from our national leadership. I think there will be a sea change in Bengal within six months state Bharatiya Janata Party President Dilip Ghosh said here.He also attacked Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee for her statement earlier that she would be happy if the CPI-M wins the Tripura elections. It is true that the CPI-M has lost in Tripura. But I am sure Mamata Banerjee is more grieved than they are with the result Mr Ghosh said. This is the tragedy of Bengal politics. The Communist Party of India-Marxist and the Congress -- who caused a great loss to Bengal over the years -- joined hands here in the last Assembly elections but the people rejected them. However Banerjee is providing them oxygen. She is trying to save the CPI-M. But her attempts will be of no avail he said.Echoing Mr Ghosh Bengal BJP leader Mukul Roy who earlier left the ruling party said the Tripura results will have an impact on Bengal politics and took a swipe at Ms Banerjee for supporting the CPI-M. The political party that got just two per cent vote last year in Tripura has come up to a position to form the government there. I am sure this result will impact Bengal too Mr Roy said. Mamata Banerjee on Friday said she would be happy if the CPI-M wins in Tripura. So I think she should take some responsibility for CPI-M s defeat he added. However ruling Trinamool Congress termed the election result in Tripura as more of a defeat of CPI-M s pride than a victory of BJP s organisational strength and claimed the results will have no impact in Bengal. This is CPI-M s defeat. The anger of the people of Tripura towards the CPI-M has been reflected through ballot. But those who are celebrating BJP s success in Tripura do not need to be too enthusiastic about it in Bengal Trinamool Congress Secretary General Partha Chatterjee said.He also blamed the CPI-M for not trying to stop the BJP in Tripura. CommentsClose X The CPI-M has been silent on the way the BJP used their resource and force in Tripura. They never realised that to fight the BJP they would need the support of all anti-BJP forces he added. The BJP and ally IPFT were ahead in 39 of the 59 Assembly seats in Tripura and look set to form the government.
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked his party MPs not to treat the impressive victory in Tripura elections as a minor one just because the state is spread over a small geographical area in the Northeast and does not have a big population. Speaking to BJP lawmakers at the weekly Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday Modi according to party sources said The victory in Tripura is historic and we should not undermine it just because our opponents are saying it is a small state in a distant part of the country. BJP chief Amit Shah and Union home minister Rajnath Singh were away in Meghalaya for the swearing -in of the Conrad Sangma government. Tripura victory has changed the mood of the party and the nation the PM said.
